HISTORICAL BACJGROUND
In May 1989 Faskari LGEA was established out of Funtua LGEA. It came into being with the creation of Government. The local government is located in the south-western part of Katsina state. Ordered by with Funtua Local government to the North, Kaduna state to the south and to the west by Zamfara state.
At its inception, the LGEA was temporarily located at P.H.C Department before being transferred to its permanent site which was constructed by Alhaji Shehu Inuwa Imam the then Local Government chairman.
STRUCTURE
By the 2006, the Faskari LGEA has a total number of eighty (80) Primary Schools spread across the local Government, with three Hundred and one classrooms, Ninety two offices and two hundred toilets.
ENROLMENT
Pupils: There are eighteen Thousand , Seven Hundred and Thirty Five male pupils in the LGEA (18,735) AND Ten Thousand One hundred and thirty female pupils (10,130), this bring the total of male/female enrolment figure to twenty Eight Thousand Eight Hundred and sixty five (28,865).
Teachers: There are total numbers of teaching and non-teaching staff of five Hundred and Ninety Nine (599) out of which four Hundred and sixty are a male (460) while one Hundred and thirty Nine are Female (139).
ROLE OF COMMUNITY LEADERS
Repairing, welding of broken desk, table, windows, doors and general rehabilitation of Yankara Model Primary School in the year 2004 by Alh. San Yankara a business man.
Rehabilitation of Mairu’a Model Primary School in year 2001 by Alhaji Lado Mairuwa a Politician and a business man.
Alhjai Tafoki a farmer chairman Kaduna North Local Government constructed and donated one block of two classrooms at Tafoki Primary school in the year 2000.
ROLE OF PTA
Purchasing of Medical facilities/Medicines for first Aid to Primary Schools across the LGEA through levy purchased brooms, buckets, mats and tanks for water storage.
They also take the responsibility of conveying instructional materials distributed by either SUBEB or Local Government, table or chairs to their various schools.
